What did you cook or eat today? (October 2025)

Copy & Paste!!!
When we go to Vegas, we always stay at Red Rock - right around the corner!!!
I've been bugging DH that we need to take a road trip up there and restock our Asian Pantry.
Only three places I can get my stash, and that's California (visit with Nieces), Phoenix (hate that place) and Vegas (way far off the Strip and Downtown please).
Little China town right there at Sahara and Decatur. ❤️

One was not enough.
This was the second one. Lightly toasted club roll and the provolone and pepperoni warmed up.

Do you have protein in yours?
Oh yes!. I like spicy tuna rolls (ahi tuna--seared or raw in a sriracha and kewpie mayonnaise, sushi rice, cucumber, green onion). Blanched scallop with rice and veggies is yummy. Or cooked crab (or surimi) in spicy mayonnaise with some rice, veggies, and tobiko (flying fish roe). Toasted sesame seeds or furikake make a nice addition. Smoked salmon with cream cheese and veggies is a good one, too.

Cucumber, avocado, and green onion are my go to veggies.

I just had some chocolate.
Someone brought me some Romolo chocolate and they are called minies (or something like that), but they are pretty sizeable pieces.
So addictive.

I took one of the "assorted"* pork chops out of the freezer for tonight. I'm going to fry it and have it with some leftover Gnocchi Sorrentina.

* For those that don't know, assorted pork chops are a little bit cheaper than the loin or center cut. You see two or three nice looking chops laying on top in the package, then there are one or two oddballs underneath. Not quite a chop, not quite a steak. Assorted, lol.

Sound like our "mixed cut"
We got it for pork, but especially for beef

I had some leftover seafood chowder so I stirred in some chopped spinach and more crabmeat with fresh squeezed lemon. I toasted English muffins halves and spooned the mixture on top then placed a fried over-medium egg on each, 1 for DH and 1 for me. Kind of like a seafood Benedict but I was too lazy to poach. Also too hungry for photos until half done lol. Really yummy.
