My first job in a factory (80 staff) they had a cafeteria. Morning tea i almost always had a beetroot and onion sammy. I had never had 1 before that.

Y'all seem to eat a lot of beets in that part of the world while they're kind of a rarity around here. I've got a can of sliced ones and I'll try that sammy tomorrow on toasted white bread? How do you fix it? They're pretty wet coming out of a can. I usually buy fresh and roast and save canned goods for power outages etc.

When.ready slice beets into jars and pour.juice to top up . Seal tight.
I know you guys do it differently but I make it the way my mum and my Nan did it. Stored in garage.

Sons birthday yesterday but we are celebrating it tomorrow (sunday).
He wants tandoori cutlets and a bbq. I will make a salad and sides will include beetroot.
Everyone on their birthday gets to choose entree. Main and dessert..
