What kind of music do you like?

We were music pimps so anything that made us money. For the outlay this inspirational ditty had the best cost/ profit ratio, also we did not have to work with artists which is a bonus. Thunda Music was a mickey take. The whole album cost from memory £50k, Telstar gave us an advance of £500 k against the first album when the single charted in the UK top ten, it went to number two.Remember the Labels advance is recoverable from the artist after the artist management has taken their %. Thunda was paid £499k. The most common phrase in the industry is "would you like to meet the band/artist after breakfast"

Oh, that round place. I hear it's nice.
From a business point of view its crap unless the artists can fill it for more than 5 nights. Because of where it is getting articulated lorries and tour coaches in is a nightmare. Tour catering facilities are poor. They have their own useless one dimensional security, you are not allowed to bring in the pro's like Showsec etc etc.
Dog mate, you drum ? Deb was a mate back in the day, a class line up for if my memory is correct either Deb or her Mums B/day

Big Albert Chapman,
Not personally I knew of him, a good acquaintance back in the day when he was at EMI Mcr Square the late great Chas Chandler ( Animals to Jimmi Hendrix manager etc etc ) was an acquaintance of his.

I knew him from Portsmouth (my home town) days - he was manager of the band my ex was in. Not a famous band it has to be said but they played as support band for a number of famous bands like Slade. This was around the time of the IOW festival. There is a great clip of Rikki ranting at the IOW festival

Glory, even back in the day wild horses would not get me to a festival, even if we had a managed artist involved. Professional security firms were available then if you had the sense and money to employ them, the majority of festival promoters learned a lesson after the Murder at the Altamont Festival. I agree with him about most artist to quote me earlier.
also we did not have to work with artists which is a bonus.
The music industry is like a shxt sandwich, the more bread you make the less shxt you eat. A prime example was Live Aid, there were three major parties after. The amount of Crystal drunk by the worthy humanitarians would have fed a lot of starving kids.

I found this today. Takes me back to my Hippy days.
