Because Christmas is all about the candy! When Jesus got his prezzies from the wise guys, it was actually a Terry's Chuck'lit Orange (gold wrap), mulling spices for his baby formula (frankincense), and a Cadbury Carmello (it looks like oil). The folks who wrote the story later just smartened it up a bit.
