What produce/ingredients did you buy or obtain today (2025)?

Pippi was getting low on treats but this worked out pretty good. Found some pork belly marked down 50% and some deli ham slices marked down as well. Those Cajun seasoned and smoked turkey necks were a good size and make really good bone broth!

Poor Pippi such a deprived dog 😂

Lots of shopping today, three places:

That lemon-honey Wensleydale should be good.

First time ever buying sweet chili sauce. Wish I could remember why I’d put it on the list…

First time trying Aldi English muffins. We love those breadsticks, and they don’t always carry them.

More to follow…

Chuck roast was on sale, as was the ground beef. Vital Farms now selling 4-packs here, and MrsT is sick again, so she gets a treat of locally-handmade French pot ice cream.

ETA - a niece-in-law we’ll be seeing at Thanksgiving is not only allergic to gluten, but the double-whammy of being allergic to xanthan gum as well. A lot of GF flours use xanthan gum for whatever reason, but I tracked down some of that Bob’s stuff and will be trying my hand at making her a couple of things she can eat. I felt terrible last year, as she hosted us (and others) for Thanksgiving, cooked several splendid meals for everyone, and everything I contributed (except for the booze), she couldn’t eat. I’m fixing that this year.

Bobs red mill 1-2-1 is a top GF flour. I’m sure their baking flour will be just as good 👍
