What produce/ingredients did you buy or obtain today (2025)?

I got egg plants, yardlong beans, bell peppers, chili's, pawpaws, rape & masau to eat..
Trying to keep up, but I am going to loose that battle. So some will be given away and some preserved

I have planted some seeds today. Lots of them actually. Chillies, swede, tomatoes, various squashes, courgettes, beans, cucumbers and a few others. Just in time for a cold snap, typical.

Picked up a dozen ears of corn (for freezing) - they had silver queen as well - some local tomatoes and beans as well.

We have those, too. Everybody here knows a tornado siren means, “Quick, get outside and get a good look before it’s gone!”

We don't have sirens but everyone knows how to read that kind of weather. I have a piece of tape on my window and when the trees are reaching the tape it's time to go underground!

When the wind is blowing the trees over far enough they, visibly, are reaching the tape on the window from where I usually sit.

This was my reward for the past week.
A generous pour and pizza, life is good. (that's raspberry iced tea for DH)
I had been chatting with our server, who we are on first name basis with, she asked us how our day had been going and I explained that we had been down in the "Big City" and that I had just driven us back up the mountain, "GIRL! you need this!"
