I can occasionally find the red ones here in Caracas. I believe they're originally from Kerala.

The reddish ones are very sweet. The small yellow ones have a slightly sourish taste.

Another dinner on Saturday and no car tomorrow, so:

I am being nosey - where do you shop for these things badjak? You live out in the wilds of Zambia, don't you? Do you have a handy corner shop or supermarket not too far away?

I had to be in one of the "bigger" towns for something else.
About 90 km away, (1- 1.5 hour drive)
It's a border town with a reasonable amount of products available, even a supermarket
Near me is just little stalls with small amounts, like re-packed sugar and oil, maybe 50 or 100 gr/ml, a couple of tomatoes and veges depending on the season, maybe a couple of eggs. And beer (warm) and kachasu/mampoer (home distilled stuff - do not touch)
Then about 17 km away (30 minutes drive) is a shop with electricity, drinks, bread (factory style), eggs, tea, and all sort of non-perishable goods.
The capital is 200 km away, 3.5-4 hour drive

2 lamb racks for Valentine’s Day
1 package of organic ground beef
1 handful of green beans, not sure it will last till Valentine’s Day or not.
A handful of garlic, shallots, and organic ginger from Peru, I plan to sprout my ginger roots and plant them in a container. I have some out there, but they not growing fast enough.
2 bags of potato chips
1 bag of steel oats
1 large bag of something chocolate for my husband
