What would you choose?

That was in response to TastyReuben, my dear! He definitely does not love macaroni and cheese and has joked about it a time or three (everyone wants to convert him because their mac n cheese "is the best" LOL). I think he would probably eat it if it was served to him to be polite, but not something he loves!

I will occasionally eat it as a side, but more often we have it baked with a base of chicken and topped with bacon and a bit of panko. I don't use a roux when I make mine, I use heavy cream, plus smoked gouda, gruyere, cheddar, and whatever else I might have on hand that will work. It often is a 5-cheese mac n cheese...
Mine is always the main meal. No room for sides...

@karadekoolaid you see what I mean?
Yep.
This trip, I've given up trying to get my son ( and his son, who's even more picky) to try anything new. I cook for myself, my wife and my middle son. The others can eat what they want; which usually revolves around pizza, burgers and BBQ meat.
As the bible says: "Sodom, for Gomorrah we die" :D

We went to a mall yesterday, because we needed to get out of the house and my wife was unable to control her shopping addiction.
For me and my son, the trip was as exciting as a visit to a cemetry, so we wandered off to find somewhere to eat, and ended up here.
Chicken potstickers for the lad, and Thai chilli shrimp for me. OK, I suppose, but the "Thai chilli shrimp" were about as "Thai" as my grandma's knickers.
They were yummy, as far as breaded, deep-fried shrimp are concerned, but I don't get "Thai" served with aioli and I don't get "Thai" without chiles, lemongrass, basil, galangal, and fish sauce.
What's your choice?

I would have had the shrimps as well, but will go for the nachos instead
By the way, I hate menu's that state calories.....

I just find that hilarious. I completely ignore the "calories" because I'm not interested. You can just imagine a 110Kg husband and wife sitting at the table next to me and saying: "I think I'll have the fried calamari and the mac & cheese. Oooohh nooooo!! That's over 2,000 calories honey? Let's go with the salad and crab bites! "
"Waitress - can I please have 6 portions of the beet & avocado salad, and 2 dozen crab bites?" :hyper: :hyper:

I’m having a number 6.

karadekoolaid the catch of the day last night was Swordfish and yes, it was a bit spendy there, but we weren't paying, soooo
Both of our nieces' husbands have VERY good jobs that pay extremely well.
Note to self: remember to mail thank you cards to both the girls!!!

I recall a million years ago when you could get swordfish in the regular grocery for around $5 a piece...
