This, grape juice, it does look like wine from afar, haha, we’re going dry for the whole year until next Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Same ol same ol - black coffee no sugar :(

I REALLY need a beer!!!!!! Can you sue the weather for deprivation of standard human rights and entitlements?????

At lunch this afternoon, our Fish & Chips place (they loads of other items as well) now serves cocktails and on the menu was Spiked Hot Chocolate - spiked with Peppermint Schnapps, MMM! Not I need to find some Schnapps to add to my growing bar ... :giggle:

the bottle.
Someone bought her a cheap wine.
I only asked because , about 15 years ago, I was involved in gourmet festival which lasted 3 days. My stand was right in front of the sommelier's stand, so I thought, ok, now's the time to ask what wine goes best with curry.
SYRAH! they all exclaimed in unison.
The following day I went to every single wine purveyor at the event and tried their Syrah. The best was a Chilean and the worst two were Californian and Australian - waaaaaayyy too sweet.

Nope. Had to look it up.
All the ports I've ever tried were from Portugal. Didn't know there was an Australian one!
Ahh yep and Grand Father Port (Dated) is very very good and expensive as hell, which brings me to the purpose of my question. I was doing a trip from Adelaide to Katherine in the Northern Territory - anyway we stopped at one of the very few outback pubs/camping grounds on our way there and did the right thing went in and had a few beers and a feed.

After my partner and I ate I asked if they had any Port (it was a thing back then) and the guy/barman/owner said he thought he had some old stuff in the cellar. Anyway, off he goes and comes back a few minutes later dusting off this bottle of port _ Dated Grand Father. I looked at him and hesitantly asked how much ... he looked at me and at the bottle and hell, it's been down there for years how does $5 (AUD) sound! I was agreeable (and have felt guilty ever since) and asked if he had any more to which he replied, yeah I think there's another 2 or 3 bottles of the stuff - you can have it if you really want it. One of theother bottles wasn't dated so my off sider and I settled in for a few ports.

When we got back to Adelaide my off sider told me to get the other two bottles valued, at that time I didn't really know that much about the stuff. Anyway long story shortened - one bottle was valued at $2000 and the other at $1500. The sad thing was I had work mates around one night and we knocked off the $1500 bottle - BEST hang over I ever had :D

That I am not sure of - I know it should be turned periodically and like wine, not left standing but on its side .... I'm really not sure though sorry.
