Whatcha Drinking (2026)?

Delirium tremens is one of my favourite beers, ever! I had a large bottle, with pink elephants and all, on my mantlepiece in London.

I really like it as well.
I "won" a pink elephant hat with ears in the colours of the Belgian flag, complete with trunk.
It was in the time of European or world cup soccer

It’s approximately 8 billion degrees below zero right now, so I made myself a blueberry tea (triple sec, amaretto, and tea) and will have another once I’ve gathered the strength to peel myself off the couch.

Laphroaig is my favourite single malt. I just love the smoky, peaty, almost medicinal flavour.

I also love Laphroaig; I visited the distillery in 2016. I think it’s high time I got back there again!

Yesterday I remembered there's a store close by that sometimes sells German products, so I thought I'd just pass by and take a look.

This is my favorite bottle of Laphroaig! I also love Lagavulin 11 or 16!

I distinctly remember our visit to Laphroaig - with my mum and dad.
When it came to the tasting, the distillery manager, Iain Henderson, a wonderful Scotsman who'd been working in malt whisky distilleries for 45 years, masterfully explained all the tasting notes and then served us all a neat Laphroaig. My dad, I think, never even tried it - if he didn't like something, he wouldn't even try it. My mum, on the other hand, decided to give it a go. First whisky in 73 years.
The reaction was something like you get from a small child when given castor oil.
Mr Henderson immediately noticed the reaction and said:
"If it's a wee bit strong, ye might wanna break it with a drop of water" and added about 3 drops of water. Same reaction, but God bless her, she downed it all!

I just finished my second batch of homemade Limoncello, using traditional Vodka rather than Everclear.

Hmmm
I gave it a small sample, just to make sure it wasn't poisoned dontcha know, and she's good to go for next week.
She's stashed in the stand-up freezer, out in the finished garage for now.
I gotta say though, this batch isn't as tasty as the Everclear batch, albeit, much more of a sipping kind of liquor... funny, DH agreed and he doesn't drink alcohol
