What's Your Favorite Food Pairing?

I´ll tell you a little story.
In my family, "dinner" was served about 6-6.30pm. Then we might go to the pub to play darts, or crib, or just drink beer.
10.30, pubs closed - we´d come back starving (well who in their right mind would eat DINNER at 6????)
There was always freshly cooked or pickled beetroot in the house, so it was great chunks of cheddar, sliced beetroot, bread and butter. Hunger solved - and they make a great combination.
Sometimes, we´d add a tbsp of piccalilli as well,

So, the recipe is something like this

Ingredients

Several pints of beer
Pickled or cooked beetroot
Cheddar
Bread
Butter

Directions

1. Consume beer.
2. Butter each slice of bread on one side.
3. Place beetroot and cheddar between bread slices. IMPORTANT NOTE: make sure the butter is on the inside!

Bacon & Green Beans
Bacon & Brussels
Bacon & Kale
I could keep going, but you get the idea

Combos I rarely see - unless it’s a massive breakfast plate - is bacon & ham or bacon & sausage. Besides conditioning to pick one when we order off a menu, I think it’s because they don’t compliment each other: all three piggy preparations are salty.

Crostini with tomato and garlic. This is simply done by toasting bread slices (rustic Italian bread), rubbing them with a raw garlic clove and then with the cut section of 1/2 a tomato. Anyone else like this type of crostini?
