Your Favourite Vegan Alternatives

If you couldn’t eat cheese for example or have a real burger when you fancied it you’d likely find yourself wondering if that ‘Camamvert’ is worth a try 😂
I found knowing it can kill you stopped the cravings very quickly.

But I am like a kid in a sweet shop in a fully vegan cafe.

If at some stage of my life I'd given up cheese and burgers, then absolutely correct. However, as I said, I never did (nor had to) so probably the craving has never existed. Still, I'm making a not to buy some when next in the US.
I did have a friend here in Caracas who made vegan cheese, however. Very impressive.

Here, in Israel, we have that vegan burger, I think it is one of the best I've tried.

I have to put this in. It generally has quite a short date on it so watch out for that and it is expensive so falls into ‘treat’ category but I love it. Even Mr SSOAP who is not a huge fan of vegan cheese likes it a lot, he even asked for it the other day.
I should point out though that whilst the flavours all there it does not look like the pic on the front, it’s not mottled blue, it’s white with the one or two dark streaks in it. Quite a few complaints about that!

Was down to a really minimally processed diet but since medication changed in march and not being able to make my own I’ve started including
Seafood
This stuff. Shrimp and breaded.
Never tasted real salmon but I make it with salt baked carrots and liquid smoke
Don’t know why, but sometimes ( once every 5-10 years)I really crave the tiny fresh water prawns. So annoyed local supermarkets have stopped stocking the vegan ones. And the own brand fish fingers. That was my junk food.
Miss seafood flavours the most, but I’ve never been able to chew or swallow any kind of meat.
Milk: allergic to casein: almond milk sugar free. Blue diamond is cheapest. Oatly or moma barista for cheese making
Butter started to use fat again Vitolite is my favourite butter alternative ( if you’re English and over 30, you’ll remember the song), but flora proactive is good. Boyfriend will accept either as long as fresh butter is available.
Cheese: Bute island. It’s an emotional connection coz that was the only one available in England 2000s. Had to order it from Scotland. I make it myself these days.
Meat.
I can’t eat it and never have. But I cook it. Sometimes people want alternatives for health reasons.
Similar to salmon recipe for hotdogs that carnivore boyfriend likes from BNV.
Sister likes Marigold braised tofu for tuna replacement and Chinese mock duck (saitan) pan cakes.

When we were back in the UK last month, my sister surprised us both by remembering our fondness of it. She bought 3 tins of it for us to bring back to Australia with us.

I can't get it in Australia but we can get their vegetable stock powder which we prefer over any others.
allergic to casein
Ditto, plus whey protein. And to the extent that i can't have generic medication with lactose monohydrate in it because it's not be cleaned enough to be rid of the traces of casein which can trigger anaphylaxis. Branded meds with it in, I'm usually fine unless it is an inhaled medication (a lot of aerosol medication for asthma contains it :o_o: so triggers me).

Nicotine. Never thought I’d kick that habit. Then died, woke up and was told it was cigarettes. 27 yr habit gone in a second.
The food stuff is harder because it’s just three days of pain and sick and antisocial smells.

Not for me. It's potentially death. I go into anaphylactic shock. I have epipens the lot.
So basically the same reaction as peanuts or nuts, just for dairy proteins instead.

I've even managed to have an allergic reaction to a generic antihistamine tablet. Did that one in hospital. And also reacted to lactose free icecream when someone decided it didn't contain dairy and labelled it dairy free sorbet (again in hospital).
