Christmas 2019 - Misc

My Christmas twig:

35646

My plans on finding a new house to add to the collection were foiled... all the good ones were already bought. Or are too large for the mantle. I'm going to try online to see if that helps. My pre-made BBQ shack also needs a new light bulb, of a type I don't have stashed here. I'll get one next time I get to a Big Box outlet.

I won't be doing a true tree this year. Too much in disorganization this year - still settling my stuff in from bringing it all up from Connecticut. But I'll have the outdoor lights and spots hither and yon around the living area and dining area.

When I was a kid the tree lights were a mix of red, blue, green, a warm glow of colour-they seem to be out of fashion now as most use white or gold.

As a kid, ours were red, blue, green and what I called orange (yellow was my favorite color as a kid - though others said the bulbs were yellow, they were not. They were orange with yellow overtones...)

I like changing things around. Right now some sections outdoors are white, but there will be multi-colors on the rails when I get done here. Hopefully tonight.

Cards sorted, presents wrapped-just not feeling the Christmas love :(
Any idea why not? Makes no nevermind...I'm oozing with it over here, so I'll just beam a magic blast of Christmas lovelight across the ocean and over your way sometime today. Get ready! :)

This should qualify under "MISC." I hope the link works for everyone, if not, do a search on "SNL Schweddy Balls."

This is the funniest food related sketch comedy video I have ever seen, and it is Christmas related...

Those of us that listen to NPR (National Public Radio) will have a better understanding of the two "hosts."

That's a classic, and he did another one, though I can't for the life of me remember the pun ("log" maybe?).

They also did one with Betty White and her "dusty muffin," but nothing tops the original.

Last night my husband went into town to finish the Christmas shopping and hopefully pick up some festive cheer, he came back with a headache

He went in to 1 shop and an assistant sprayed him with Paco Rabane- not a very masculine fragrance :headshake:

I have an acquaintance who, over the past couple years, has asked me to help him with increasing his Christmas music repertoire, so I recorded a few quick ones for him, and thought I'd share them here in honor of the season:

Don't judge my voice too harshly - a severe bout of pneumonia a couple of decades ago destroyed any breath control I had and now I generally don't sing publicly, but this was for instructive reasons.

Tried doing our first ever boxed gingerbread house (though this one is chocolate for some reason). Here's what the box says:

And here's the reality:

I got it assembled just fine, really, then MrsTasty insisted on doing the detail work. If you knew both of us IRL, you'd instantly know those roles should be reversed.

Assuming I'd be doing the whole thing, I watched a video on how to do it, but the wife didn't need any of that. I kept saying, "You need to do this piece fir-" and I'd get, "I've got it, I've got it!" - and that's how it came out.

We ran out of the white frosting, and it's that stuff that sets hard really quickly, and I had some green cookie icing in the cupboard, but that didn't set nearly as fast.

I saw a little A-frame after I bought this one, and I think I'll try one of those next year.
