CookingBites recipe challenge: Mushrooms

I'm ruminating on some mushroom ideas ... something comforting, tasty, and interesting. 🍄🍄🍄
or something like that

- I really wonder who comes up with the designs for emojis - the only mushroom emoji on my phone which is in the food section is the red and white flecked fly agaric.

Speaking of mushrooms, I was looking around on various food and grocery sites and apps to see what's out there and how much, and was shocked to see the number of mushrooms and mushroom products being sold as supplements for anything and everything literally from waking to sleeping and at crazy price tags in some cases without a shred of evidence for claims that they do anything - which they have put on the label. Meantasay.

I've just ordered a grow-your-own box of Lion's Mane mushrooms. Not that they will arrive in time, or grow in time, but it has to be cheaper and easier than trying to buy them!
I just ordered some from Ocado. Quite expensive but I'm intrigued to try them. It seems they are like no other mushroom!

They and oysters were $20 a pound at grocery.

Yes, they have a totally different texture. But having no frame of reference, I've no idea if they resemble any meat or fish product in texture because I've never really eaten any.

Not tried them - or looked for them until now tbh - but they've become commercially growable and more available - what flavour do they have if any?

that is hard for me to answer. I stopped eating meat when I was 11, some 42 years ago. All I can say is mushroom.... but the texture is the key thing with lion's mane - the texture allows the mushroom to absorb and carry a lot of liquid within it - think of a delicate sponge texture that you eat... so whatever is around, they will pick up.
