My favorite falafel recipe. Ingredients listed below, hope you enjoy...


  • 2 cups (200g) dried chickpeas
  • 1/2 onion
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 1/2 bunch Parsley
  • 1/4 bunch Cilantro
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • vegetable oil (Frying oil)
  • 1 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • to serve: pita, tahini sauce/ hummus, tomatoes / cucumbers.
  1. Soak the dry chickpeas in water overnight, wash and drain.
  2. Add onions, parsley, cilantro and garlic into the food processor and process until all combined.
  3. Add the chickpeas into a food processor, together with salt, cumin, paprika powder, black pepperbaking soda and the bread crumbs.
  4. Process until smooth but still crumbly.
  5. Transfer to a large bowl. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour.
  6. Heat oil for frying.
  7. Remove falafel mixture from the fridge and using your hands shape into small balls or discs.
  8. Fry the falafel balls in until crispy and golden brown and crispy. Transfer to a paper towel.
Serve with pita bread, tahini sauce/and or hummus and your favorite salad mix.
