A sacked health minister who took his family to the beach during lockdown, another sacked for an affair in Paris, the circus continues, Samoa closed a few weeks before us and no infected there. People getting out of isolation and going shopping here, guards found asleep. I'd rather be in Samoa thanks.
As for the states I just can't believe the parties still going on. Melbourne appear to be learning.??

Just got off the phone with my sister, the Hospital RN. She said there are currently three vaccines in testing phase in the US, and one in the UK (Cambridge). All of them look promising. She said four vaccines that work would make it easier to produce vaccines for the public faster. So far, the pharmaceutical companies are cooperating. We'll see what happens when one has an approved vaccine.

In the past 24 hours, 28 new cases were recorded, so the number of currently ill (active cases) in Croatia today is 561. Among them, 110 people are in hospital, with seven patients on a respirator. In the past 24 hours, 934 people were tested.

Usually this pilgrimage attracts 100,000 people from Croatia and all over the world. Thankfully the government stepped in.

People who will still visit Sinj for this holiday should definitely be given some more restrictions.

- If people want to see and be near the image of the Miraculous Lady of Sinj, they should certainly be prevented from kissing the image or touching it with their hands. They should be allowed to walk past the picture, bow to it, and continue on without touching or kissing. Everything must be thought about, because even the slightest omission can lead to unwanted consequences - says Dr. Karin.

We should not forget the fact that many residents of Split, Solin and other surrounding towns and cities will go on foot to Sinj Our Lady of Sinj.

It would be good for people to visit Sinj in the remaining 20 days until the holidays. One should understand all those people who want to go and pay homage to the image of Our Lady of Sinj. I was amazed that the government which usually sucks up to the Vatican enforced it's restriction. A priest in a parish near us at the start of the epidemic held an illegal mass and told the congregation not to wear masks as the devil could enter in disguise. The police shut it down and warned him and his congregation. He came out and confronted the police. A few people recorded the event on their phones. He swore and issue threats of damnation etc. The police charged him with a breach of the peace. We had a recent incident where 100-plus people got the virus at one church service in Ohio. People in my parent's church don't wear masks, or socially distance. We talked my parents into not going to church. The preacher "encouraged" members to wear masks, but it had little effect. I guess the figured god would protect them from Covid-19.

At this point, I think it's more a matter of "I don't give a crap," than it is ignorance of what's going on.
 
So far, 66 NFL players have said that they'd sit out the upcoming season because of concerns about the virus.
  • Major League Baseball is a prime example of how NOT to do it. They have removed fans from the stadium, but players don't need to wear masks. Being outdoors, the lack of masks isn't too terrible. But, players are able to come and go as they please, which explains why they are seeing a spike in cases.
  • The only way to make sports safe, it seems, is to do what the NBA and NHL are doing. They have also removed the fans, but in both cases they're in a "bubble" - isolated from anyone outside - where they must remain.
    • If they leave, they are subject to quarantine for 10 days.
    • In the case of the NHL, they're even safer: they're in Canada.
