How is the corona virus affecting you?

You are supposed to be self-isolating. It is really important as you have been in direct contact with the virus. In particular, you shouldn't be leaving your house or going anywhere near anybody else. I know you want to help but this is extremely important. Old people in particular are at risk from this virus. In addition, paper and cardboard & plastic surfaces etc. that you have touched, can all be contaminated with the virus, if you are a carrier. It is not at all advisable for you to make up hampers for anyone right now.

Sorry, but as a moderator, I needed to state this. The forum shouldn't be seen to be condoning any behaviour which could put others at risk.
I wash hands with disinfectant then put on new plastic gloves I also spray gloves with medical alcohol first before I put things inside box. Box I spray also, I not go near lady I speak through window.

Saranak, you are in quarantine. You have had direct exposure to the virus. However careful you are it is not OK to be preparing food or hampers for delivery to others.

In case you don't already have it, and you want something to help you obsess over this whole thing, go to the Apple App Store and download this:

‎HEALTHLYNKED COVID-19 Tracker

There are apparently some fake trackers out there, so be careful. But, I've been using this one for the past few days. Both informative and scary at the same time.

Just left Kroger (why is it I remember something new every day?) - the handful of Tylenol bottles they had this time yesterday, gone.

For the first time, the super-premium dog food we buy, gone. I've got enough to get through the weekend, but I didn't really expect that to sell out, as it's so expensive.

Our laws have just changed due to 50 killed by one gunman in mosque attacks a year ago. Government (IMHO) are weak liberal limp wristed socialists, put a buyback for guns. It's ridiculous as there is an underground of crims that don't operate like that. I used to hunt 30 years ago deer etc, but could never kill an animal now. Grandkids would kill me,lol.
I'm aware of the strength of the nra in your country.and your right to carry guns.

Not sure I see what that has to do with my post -- surge in gun and ammo sales because of a virus. What are people thinking?

Try mail order deliveries if the item isn't perishable. This is how we got the big box of toilet paper (which we ordered from Staples, a non-standard supplier). This will save having to keep checking to see if your local market has what you need back in stock.
We're actually considering joining Amazon Prime. I'm really dragging my feet, because even though I'm forward thinking in most ways, I loathe online shopping/buying. Absolutely can't tolerate it.

I also don't like the idea that I'm somehow giving in to unnecessary panic. I want to control the whole situation, not have it control me.

I know...completely irrational, but I'm trying to keep things as typical as possible around here.

They're gonna shoot that virus dead!

The obvious answer, of course, is much darker. No doubt there are plenty for whom it feels like society is imploding, and pretty soon, they think they may have to get their Charmin at the end of a gun. 😵

Does your vet stock food?

Not what we buy, no. I'm hoping it's just a temporary setback. This store was out of it for over a month once, so I'm going with that.

I've got to make a trip to a bigger town this weekend, so I'm going to check there.

Try chewy.com. We started buying our pet food and cat litter there a while back. They have free shipping at, I think, $35 and up.

WalMart.com also has free shipping for orders over a certain amount, $35 again I think. You can get your feet wet  there without buying a membership.

I just got finished doing something I haven't done in a very, very long time...making dough to rest overnight in the fridge for donuts and cinnamon rolls or sticky buns, haven't decided which yet. We usually go out for breakfast on the weekends, but...

I just know it's going to happen, eventually. Some Nimrod is going to shoot another Nimrod in a fight over toilet paper.

Thanks! I'll check the pet food place out for sure. :)
