I saw an interview last evening with Davor Božinović, who is the Interior Minister and a key player in the Civil Protection HQ.
He mentioned several internal reforms but also about Covid that may be of interest.
Regarding countries claiming their Nationals are being infected whilst on vacation here. There is an EU infectious diseases early warning system. Non of these countries have reported in to that system.
Re night clubs. Some have closed voluntarily as they cannot ensure customers comply with the covid guidelines. He is reluctant to force others to close but inspections will be intensified. He is thinking forward to winter when bars, restaurants, and, clubs, will be operating more indoors.
Re masks. Again reluctant to enforce the wearing of them by penalties. That is because the majority of Croatians wear masks in places like supermarkets, public transport etc. Tourist are a problem, we saw 5 young Germans blocked from entering Interspar by security. The guards then made them stand outside the entrance while a member of staff took cash off them and bought them a large pack of masks.
