I need a marinade idea

I'm gonna do fried chimken sangwich and I need ideas for the marinade. I am for sure using buttermilk and hot sauce. What else should I put in the marinade? Also, if you want to, think of a nice sauce to go on the sandwich when it's built. (like an aioli, or something like that).

That’s hard to answer without a hint of the direction.
You might be a lemon chicken lover, or enjoy traditional herb and garlic mixes, or love spicy Asian inspired bases, all of these things effect the sauce you’d go with

Give us a clue as to what you’re thinking will taste good.

I agree with ssoap...
I do a lot of marinades, but difficult to say which way to go.
Right now, my idea would go to Tandoori (and you can use buttermilk instead of yoghurt) and Shoarma.
But there are so many more options & possibilities

That's what I was thinking. Some kind of garlicky aioli with a zip of citrus.

Could sub some vinegar for the citrus depending on the bite you're looking for.
