I stewed mine for an hour, if you want softer, stew them a bit longer. After you are satisfied with your pears, fish them out, add a bit of cornstarch to make the sauce thick then drain and remove all the bits in the sauce, I just use a tong to remove them, and not strained as recommended.
I don't mind, but it’s nothing original from me, it’s mostly the internet. I do have cookbooks with this recipe, but this year I'm too lazy to look up.

- 1 cup of sugar
- A few twigs of cinnamon, maybe one is good
- A few cloves
- One large orange juice
- Peels of one orange
- Pears
