Plans for today (2025)

I have a work report to finish up, then we are going to a bar on the lake near our house this afternoon with some friends to watch a band we like. They serve food there, so no cooking.
Well that got kabotched. DH went out for a drive earlier and went by the bar and he said the parking lot was full and people were parking 1/4 mile away and walking there. He said no place to park, long wait for beer and food, long lines to pee. I know he's right so we are going over to his cousin's house for homemade pizzas. Our youngest daughter is over there right now and they are jarring peppers. I packed a bottle of vodka and some mixers. Leaving here in a few.

Mine is just for one room and I bought a refurbished one for USD $318. It came with a 2 year guarantee.
I'd happily accept one room, but that was the only option here and the starting price for solutions. And with no 3G service (it has been turned off in Australia), options are limited.

I feel for ya. Our plans also got put aside yesterday for Sunday family dinner. So Saturday ww asked what they wanted. Everyone agreed butter chicken. So yesterday I started cooking the chicken and half way through cooking lee our son txt and said all his 3 kids were down with a bad bug going around. Takes you out for 3 days. So I carried on and finished the chicken and froze
.it will keep for another time.

So there is a large market and research company I do IC work with that is testing e-commerce grocery delivery. They have a variety of assignments testing delivery from the actual grocery store, curbside pickup, and 3rd party delivery methods. Yesterday afternoon I did 2 grocery delivery shops for a 3rd party system where I just went online, picked what I wanted to order, had it delivered, and received $35 reimbursement and $25 pay for each assignment. I ordered almost $50 in groceries for each segment just in case there were any out of stocks so I could be sure to reach my full reimbursement. I didn't even have to make contact with the drivers, they just dropped off the groceries on my doorstep. All I had to do was take a photo, download the emailed receipts as PDFs, upload this to the report, and answer the questions with a short narrative for the report.

I was in the kitchen about 20 minutes ago while my DH was eating his 2/3rds of the omelet I made, and I said, "I wish a few more of those grocery delivery shops would pop up." I washed a few dishes and went back to my computer, and lo and behold, two delivery assignments came in through email on my computer. I just took them and am getting ready to order some more groceries!!!! The universe was looking out for me I reckon.

Something blew in the car (I suspect a hose filled with oil) and so I couldn't use the bloody thing today. Got a taxi to take me to the restaurant this morning, where we worked out a menu and agreed to start doing test runs on Wednesday, with the idea of inaugurating the Indian Food Festival next Wednesday, 10th September.
Whoopee!!
