Plans for today (2025)

Something blew in the car (I suspect a hose filled with oil) and so I couldn't use the bloody thing today. Got a taxi to take me to the restaurant this morning, where we worked out a menu and agreed to start doing test runs on Wednesday, with the idea of inaugurating the Indian Food Festival next Wednesday, 10th September.
Whoopee!!
I'm sorry your dratted car is giving you issues, it seems like there's always something with that money pit. I am happy you get to do your Indian Food Festival, though.

So there is a large market and research company I do IC work with that is testing e-commerce grocery delivery. They have a variety of assignments testing delivery from the actual grocery store, curbside pickup, and 3rd party delivery methods. Yesterday afternoon I did 2 grocery delivery shops for a 3rd party system where I just went online, picked what I wanted to order, had it delivered, and received $35 reimbursement and $25 pay for each assignment. I ordered almost $50 in groceries for each segment just in case there were any out of stocks so I could be sure to reach my full reimbursement. I didn't even have to make contact with the drivers, they just dropped off the groceries on my doorstep. All I had to do was take a photo, download the emailed receipts as PDFs, upload this to the report, and answer the questions with a short narrative for the report.

I was in the kitchen about 20 minutes ago while my DH was eating his 2/3rds of the omelet I made, and I said, "I wish a few more of those grocery delivery shops would pop up." I washed a few dishes and went back to my computer, and lo and behold, two delivery assignments came in through email on my computer. I just took them and am getting ready to order some more groceries!!!! The universe was looking out for me I reckon.

Love how you have a lot of variety.

Great news for the Indian Food Festival 👍
Your car brings to mind the ‘suck-cost fallacy’. Just sayin’

It feels like summer heat is definitely leaving the building

But the temperature and wind speed are good today so it will feel pleasant and I did manage to whack through an enormous amount of jobs yesterday, I even spent hours in my Pa’s cantankerous company without resorting to anaesthetic (vino) with dinner!

What I’m getting round to badly justifying here is getting down to the butchers and buying something nice for a late BBQ lunch outside while the weather can just about accommodate it and maybe not going back to work for the rest of the day.. 😬😊
Thats the plan 🤞

I'm lying in bed drinking tea right now contemplating all the things I should be doing lol. Procrastination is no stranger to me. I had a list of things to do yesterday and only did half of them.

I did pick up some work for later this week and next week.

Okay, I got all the dishes done and made DH another omelet. This one was a kitchen sink omelet as I had some of the filling from yesterday's omelet (ham, spinach, bacon, mushrooms, peppers, and onions) and I cut up the leftover chunk of chicken cordon blue from a few days ago and used that for the filling in addition to American, smoked gouda, goat cheese, and colby jack. Turned out great from what DH said. My 1/3 is still sitting in the pan with the lid on because I am not hungry just yet. It's only 4PM!

But I also took out a really large package of chicken thighs from the freezer and I am going to cut off the excess skin later and put them in a brine in the morning along with some fresh chicken drumsticks I bought yesterday so we can put them on the smoker tomorrow afternoon. And I think everyone knows what's going to happen to that excess skin I am cutting of those chicken thighs.
