Here is one I made while ago - which proves I can bake a cake even though its a rare thing. If I can find it...

One of the loveliest creations ever invented was the ice cream sandwich. I haven't had one in years but man do I love them!

I’m guessing it’s cake with icecream in it? Looks good, it was never a thing over here. Now I can’t eat any of it there is of course a lot of variation

Umm, it's really more like 2 cookies with ice cream sandwiched in between. It's so beloved here that they have gluten free and dairy free versions, too.

It just looks like what we call a layered cake. Except we'd frost the top, too. Yummy looking though.

I was just getting ready to mention to SandwichShortOfAPicnic that she could probably make her own dairy free and gluten free version.

Yours looks a little too healthy for me, LOL! I think I spy some oatmeal in there. Don't get me wrong, I am not hating on oatmeal, I just don't want it in my ice cream sandwich...

Simple butter with radishes in a sandwich, as shown in the Pepin video you posted, is wonderful and classic.

Which reminds me of that other classic French sandwich - jambon beurre (ham and butter). It was the first thing we ate the last time we were in Paris.

I used to love oatmeal cookies. I can see one on either side of ice cream.

And I am quite certain that yours are better than the very expensive retail version!

I think the main reason I don't like oatmeal cookies is because people put raisins in them. I think if I were to eat say, a peanut butter oatmeal cookie, I would like it just fine. Even though I won't eat a peanut butter sandwich (that's a whole nother story I won't get into right now).

Sandwich build:

Horseradish and roast beef

Mustard, turkey, and Swiss cheese

Mayonnaise, tomatoes, and bacon

American cheese and onions

Brushed with melted butter, garlic and onion powders, salt, and sesame seeds

Now it’s baking off in the oven.
