Makes at least 24 cookies with a small cookie cutter.
-175 g self raising flour
-175 caster sugar
-125 g butter (soft)
- 2 tbsp almond shavings
- 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp ginger, 1 tsp nutmeg, 1/2 tsp salt & fresh grated black pepper

Cream the butter with the sugar, and spices, then add the flour and almonds until a firm dough is formed. Wrap the ball in clingfilm and let rest in the fridge for 15 minutes. Heat the oven to 130 celcius upper and lower heat. Line your baking tray with baking paper. Roll out your dough with a rolling pin on a flat surface coated with some flour to prevent sticking. Make your shapes and reuse dough that doesn't fit the molds until there is no dough left. Bake for 20 minutes. Then let cool for at least an hour and tuck in. Enjoy!

This recipe without the spices is my basic cookie recipe, it works every time!
