fried chicken . . . .
tripped across an article that presumed to have found: "the best gas station fired chicken"
okay - the 'gas station' label is a bit more like "rest stop" / in marketing geek "travel center"
- places with some-to-humongous other offerings...
Love's / Flying J / Buc-ees / etc
their top pick was Royal Farms.
which is actually more of a gas station ala convenience store than a 'travel center'
not much different that ye olde 7-11 . . .
it's also seriously more limited in scope - to the mid-Atlantic states.
well, having been served up some of the worst chicken garbage _ever_ from the local KFC . . .
opted to give it a try.
bottom line: their fried chicken really is excellent!
tasty, juicy . . they tout "fresh, never frozen" and I think that really does enhance the texture as freezing always does seem to make chicken tougher.
