The CookingBites recipe challenge: cauliflower/broccoli

Welcome to the CookingBites recipe challenge. The current challenge ingredient is cauliflower and/or broccoli vernplum is our judge. I'm very likely sitting this one out as I'm not fond of them, they are hard to find and cost a fortune if you do.
And I'll be on holiday for most of this period
I'll be cooking, but will have to buy my veges in the rural areas....

We love them both, though MrsT doesn’t like raw broccoli. I think I prefer cauliflower raw and broccoli cooked.

We eat quite a bit of both, but usually just steamed, as a side.

As vernplum has indicated in another topic the desire to change up his usual side-dish routine, I have two picked out - one a Midwestern staple (as I’m wont to do), and one that’s completely new to me.

I do have about a week out of town coming up, and some other things going on, but I’ll be doing me best to get these entered.

I'm busy with ideas. Some may work, some not... spent much of the day happily researching, brainstorming (with self) and sketching pictures of how the dishes might look. So far, fresh sardines are ordered and some figs.

They are very 'loose' and scribbled over. Not really intended for show. I might post some scribbles of the last challenge in another thread...

I did a search of the recipes I've already posted. 6 cauliflower recipes, but only one broccoli.
Time to redress that imblalance. I love broccoli. An Italian recipe, that I only watched on Instagram a couple of times, comes to mind.

I did the same thing and found I'd posted 11 cauliflower recipes and only 2 broccoli. I know I've posted quite a few other photos of cauliflower and/ or broccoli dishes I've made but probably not thought worth writing up since they were basic dishes such as cauliflower cheese or soups. The feature photo is such a dish: Cauliflower cheese with spinach.

Anyway, I will try to post more broccoli recipes this time round.
