Just some teaser photos…

Ok, my last one:

Recipe - Flash-Roasted Cauliflower with Tasty Crumbs

This one was fun, and about all I used from the source recipe was the technique.

The original recipe called for broccoli, pepperoni, panko, and Dijon - I used cauliflower, deli ham, rye bread crumbs, and German mustard. I made those changes because I served this with pork chops and the updated ingredients fit with that better, I think.

Seems simple, but there’s a lot going on here to make the tastebuds happy…layers of flavor, from the earthy rye bread to the smoky-salty ham, and the pungent mustard.

The fact that anyone you prepare this for may not be expecting all that is a bonus. MrsT thought she was getting some lightly-breaded cauliflower, but was in no time asking, “What’s in this…mustard? And it’s so savory!”

This one is staying in the quiver, especially considering how customizable it is.

10 great recipes so far, but just a few days left…can we get to a baker’s dozen before the deadline?
I was going to enter something but got busy, now working most of the coming week when I thought I'd be off. Unless we can have an extra 9 days I likely can't do it, but I realize that's a stretch.

Okay, that would be 9 days from today for an extension if the judge vernplum agrees. I think I could get one made and written up by Tuesday (9/16). Maybe that would give some other peeps the time needed to get more entries in.

I have literally a dozen ideas but making things is slow for me right now due to back pain. I do have two more made and ready to write up though. An extension would help me too, if you agree vernplum.
