Uh oh, this looks like trouble.

Our problem in North Texas is not how cold it gets, with the exception of events like last February's big freeze. Our problem is what I keep calling "weather whiplash." In the deep of winter, we can easily go from shorts and t-shirt weather to snow/ice storm between breakfast and dinner.

That and there are no snowplows or salt trucks to speak of, and some people didn't know how to drive when there was no snow, so add a quarter-inch and people are spinning off the roads.

I am glad we have no salt trucks. I like my cars rust free. Here, they spread coarse sand on icy roads.

I would never buy a car from a State that uses salt on roads. On the other hand, people seek out cars from most parts of Texas. My MINI is 15 years old, and don't have on millimeter of rust anywhere.

Speaking of snow... It is 70F/21C right now, but that all changes tomorrow. By the end of the day, it will be below freezing. On Thursday, it will not get above freezing all day, and there is a chance for 2 to 3 inches of snow.

My car is a 2013 with 0 rust. But we have these carwashes here that do the undercarriage as well, so it's not a big deal.

Yeah, I think we are due for 18" of snow on Thursday here. Today the high was 45F, it's a nice melt that we needed. Rain tomorrow and low 40s, then it's going to drop 40 degrees so we will have both ice and snow.

I just got home from the store. I was running out of poodle food, and I picked up a few essentials. The next couple of days are supposed to be the first test of the Texas power grid since the Big Freeze of a year ago. It is not going to be as cold, for as long this time, so hopefully the power will stay on. I know the Texas government hasn't spent any money on the grid. Instead, they dumped about $300-million into that stupid border wall. Our Govornot is up for re-election this year, and he wants to make sure he has Trump's support.

How different is psychopoodle dogfood from normal dogfood?

Also loved your "gover-not" terminology.

My GI is going to refer me to a pain specialist, because there's a 50% chance that my chronic pain is caused by irritated nerves due to scarring in the abdomen. I will get a treatment that might bring those nerves back in their normal state, which would cause me to be without pain if I am in that 50% group.
I'm praying it will work, because that means I would be pain free for the first time in 20 years! I can't even imagine what that would be like..
I'm stunned by the idea of this, it sounds like a dream.

I won't get my hopes up until after the treatment, but yeah, that's so worth a try!

Blue skies and sunshine (again) here. No rain for weeks, or if there was, it was overnight and went unnoticed. Its not even cold considering its February (11C - 50 F).

Also: my GI has said my liver issues I talked about on here earlier are not due to my diet, but likely due to my medication as I thought they were. So they're going to refer me for a different pain treatment, and testing my liver again in 6 months to see if it gets better.

I'm still speaking to the RD tomorrow anyway, because I figure more caution is better.
