I used the opportunity to switch to my wife’s doc. It’s further away, but I like all the specialists and the hospital in that area over the ones in my rinky town.
I’ve set up an appointment with my new doc, and I suppose we’ve taken the final step to “old married couple” status - the scheduler noticed MrsT had an upcoming appointment and stuck me on that one - we’re now having our appointments together.

Well, I'd say that you're lucky to get a new patient appointment with someone else.
I tried to get my Mother in with DH's doc (a real doc by the way) and his wait list for a new patient appointment was ONE YEAR OUT!!!
We settled for a LNP.
Here in Arizona, Nurse Practitioners can have their own practice, not affiliated with an MD  That's how bad it's gotten.
One of our nephews is studying for his doctorate but he said he doesn't want to practice medicine, he said that he can make more money in research. 🤷‍♀️

My wife’s doc isn’t taking new patients, but she agreed to take me. We have a little bit of a relationship in that I usually go to all MrsT’s appointments with her, so the doc already knows who I am.

Apparently we needed more rain.

1 of 2 flooding points on our track. This was deeper than my wellies!

91092

91093

This is our track onto the dirt road.

91095

As you can see from the white water, the road surface has gone and there will now be a gap between the track and the road somewhere between ½m to 1m deep (1½ to 3 foot deep).

My chooks aren't impressed. The worms are drowning and the rain is too heavy for their liking! Lol. They'll wade through this if it stops raining.

Hubby is now trying to get home from Canberra. He went to work in the SUV, not our 4×4 because the forecast was 10-20mm of rain from 9am to 9am. It's almost 4pm now and we've already had 50mm of rain, most of it since midday.

I've not idea if he'll actually make it home to be honest. I'm certain that the floodplain is now closed. The road across the river in the local town will be closed without a shadow of a doubt. That leaves 2 options. If the floodplain is not too deep for the 4×4 I might be able to collect him from the floodplain. If not, he'll have to go all the way to the other city (100 miles away) and come back on the other highway which well bring him in tip the local postal town above the river that can't be crossed, so he can then head back in a decreasing spiral uphill to us, assuming that the road isn't flooded or closed from fallen trees (given I've heard chainsaws when I was out cleaning debris, I'm not that certain the road is open.)

It's going to be a long night.

He's home. He got lucky. The floodplain was flooded but hadn't yet been closed... He got through without too many issues (we're very accustomed to drive through flood water have learnt to drive in the West Coast of Scotland, Lancashire & the Lake District (me) and hubby Yorkshire & Lancashire. The driver of the 4×4 behind him didn't fair so well so clearly wasn't slipping the clutch and revving the engine when he went through the dips (causeway) but stopping to assist would only write our vehicle off the road. Our SUV is an automatic, so hubby would need a foot on the brakes and another on the accelerator in order to rev the engine to keep the exhaust free from water whilst under it.

Apparently we've had much more rain than the surrounding area.

During our recent flooding problems I have been trying (again) to advise my wife of the actions that need to be taken when driving in deep water, e.g. low gear, keep the revs up, and drive with the left foot resting on the brake peddle once free of the standing water. She's learning.

Also, for a reason unknown to myself or Ford, the rear brakes seize up when damp so do not park the truck with the handbrake on; leave it in gear.

This is a case of driving through water deeper than the exhaust, so you have to keep engine revs very high to prevent sucking water into the exhaust and into the engine. In the automatic, that's 1 foot on the brake to keep the speed down and 1 foot on the accelerator to keep the revs up. The air intake on both vehicles is on top of the bonnet (the 4×4 has a high dust intake (or more accurately anti dust intake) but it's not watertight, so the top of the engine is still it's maximum depth.

We're both used to driving through deep water, often deeper than the door sills... part of living rurally.

I'll stick some water absorbing crystals inn the car tomorrow to clear the dampness Fein both vehicles. My 4×4 has had them in all winter because she wasn't in use and the inside wad covered in condensation... I didn't want any more mold growing....

Stopping isn't usually a problem around here. Our biggest issue with the brakes is the crap getting between the pads and the disks and grinding them away faster.... dirt road problems.

Apparently we're not yet done with the rain. It had started up again.

We're forecast 90% chance of 10-20mm for both tomorrow and Sunday. That's what we were forecast for Wednesday and Thursday (20mm both days) and what we were forecast for today (now at 65mm and still raining).

Does anyone know how to put floats onto a lawnmower?

Unexpected development on the diagnostic process:
I tested positive on Lupus anticoagulans, which is a blood clotting disorder caused 50% of the time by systemic Lupus which is an autoimmune disorder which would explain my pain and other symptoms I currently have.
These test results are from the specialist hospital and have now been sent on to my rheumatologist. I hope this will pave the way to treatment!

My sister leaves on her long overdue cruise next Friday. I will be going to Houston for five days in her absence. I have asked my mother what she wants me to cook for her. She has completely forgotten by now. So I will cook what I know she likes, and she will be happy.

The challenge is going to be my dad. He will eat whatever is put in front of him (MG knows all about dementia) but, want to bring him something that might bring back some memories. I have some ideas, and they are ideas I can pull off pretty easily. My dad has never been hard to feed.

I'm thinking a filet mignon for my mom and me one day for lunch. Steamed broccoli and cauliflower on the side. My sister is supposed to figure out which day that will be -- Thursday or Friday.

It's funny how life goes. My mom and I were like oil and water most of my life, and now she asks my sister, "When is your brother coming home?" The second question is, "What's he going to cook?"

She still watches FOXnews all day, but she knows she has to turn that 💩 off when I'm in the house.😎

I also have a mission to teach the dog walkers how to walk a dog. They walk my mom's dog for ten minutes, and say, "She didn't want to walk anymore." And, they get paid for 30 minutes. I need to patiently teach them the old "the human is the boss" thing. The human decides when the walk is done, not the overweight dog. I will be taking a dog, and a dog walker for a walk.

Oooooooohhhhh, I am really pi$$ed off.

My bank, BBVA Compass, a really good bank that I was with for over twenty years, was bought out by PNC Bank, a bigger (I guess) bank that seriously sucks. I thought I had gone through all of the hurdles of that transition, but it appears I missed one. My annual payment to my website company, that always wen't though automatically with BBVA Compass Bank, an absolutely fantastic bank, did not go through with PNC Bank, and now my business website is a Chinese porn site. Go to my website now, and it is Chinese people having sex!!!

I'm not sure whether to sue someone or KILL someone.

PNC Bank has been nothing but :banghead:since the first day they TOLD ME they were my new bank. I didn't ask for this 💩.

Now, I will be spending the next several weeks and all kinds of money changing my business website, email address and all of my printed materials, and telling all of my customers that I have not turned Chinese and gone into the porn business.

I should have left that absolutely incompetent bank months ago, but I decided to give PNC a chance. Man, was that stupid.

My first clue should have been when I went into my bank, and all the employees I knew for years told me how PNC sucks... and then they disappeared. They either found better jobs, or got fired for caring about twenty year customers!

Thanks for letting me get that off my chest. I promise not to kill anyone... yet.

I feel for you. Around 8 or 9 years ago, my offshore bank (Royal Bank of Scotland International) transferred my account to their subsidiary, NatWest International. For a reason which was known only to NatWest, I had to then prove who I was and where I lived - not an easy task when the house, land and all the utilities bills are in my wife's name. In the end I sent them a copy of my passport (verified by a policewoman - my daughter) and the last letter that they sent to me in it's envelope. It worked.

BBVA bought my previous bank, Compass Bank, and they became BBVA Compass. It was seamless. It was like nothing changed. PNC bought BBVA Compass, and they were like Banking NAZIs. You will change ALL of your account numbers! You will accept our terms! I should have moved my money first thing. But, I didn't want to mess up my autopay stuff. Turns out, they messed that up for me.

I would find it very difficult to change my bank. In order to have an new account in a UK bank now, onshore or offshore, I would require a UK or EU address (which I do not have).

That's why I stayed with PNC. But now, I have to change banks. It is part of that weeks or months of work I am going to have to do to get all my banking turned over to a new, competent bank. I hate it. But, I have no choice.
