Oops,

This is literally across the road from us.

Conservatives here LOVE wind turbine fires. They say it is proof that we need to stop this renewable energy nonsense and double-down on fossil fuels. :rolleyes:

CD
They already are saying it on the FB feed!
<shakes head in despair>

One thought that did cross my mind though was what went through the heads of the volunteer rural fire service when they got called out at 6am this morning! "What the xxxx are we expected to do with this? " They can't reach it and have already said all they can do is let it burn out. It's not exactly the 'normal' call out. All they can be expected to do is to stop it becoming a bush fire and spreading. At least access was easy. It was one of the turbines by the highway rather than the really difficult access ones at my end of that farm. (There are about 98 turbines in the farm and it's only been running for 2 years (almost to the day).

Texas leads the US in wind energy with more than 13,000 turbines on 150 wind farms. In fact, if Texas were a country, it would rank number five in the world for wind power capacity. However, our conservative Texas government refuses to support all that power generation with transmission infrastructure to move the power from the farms to the population centers. The wind farms regularly have to stop generating power because they can't move it to where it is needed.

Back when automobiles first became commercially viable, I'm sure conservatives were the ones saying, "Don't be stupid, get a horse!!!"

Well finally I have a diagnosis. I have Crohn induced rheumatic symptoms in the connective tissues between my joints. It's not reuma , it's still Crohns but the effect is very similar in pain levels and mobility problems.

I'm getting anti inflammatories ( prednisone or NSAIDS) starting next week, my rheumatologist has to talk to my GI specialist first before I know which of those two it's going to be. But hurray for finally getting treatment !
