The Good News Thread

I received a letter from the NHS the other day confirming that I no longer require eye injections every 3 months! Still got to go and get them scanned and photographed regularly but as long as they don't play up again then no more injections in my eyes for me 😎

What's NHS?, National Health Services???
 
I get plantar fasciitis from time to time. It 's never a regular thing; it never triggers because I'm on my feet for long hours, particularly - it just triggers.
The NHS docs, when I was last in the UK, gave me some potassium diclofenac pills. "Just take them when it happens, and stop as soon as it goes away"
I have, and it does. Sometimes it's 3am and my damn feet are killing me. 2 days later, all gone, and it may not come back for 3, or 6 months.

I was prescribed that for something and had horrible side effects. I had to stop immediately. 🙁
 
My sister had a kidney transplanted recently, after that she almost died of sepsis twice, both times I came to the rescue just in time. Recently she told me she gained weight, which she hadn’t been able to do that for months. Everything seems to be working well, no more infection, something to be thankful for this Thanksgivings.
 
Good news today is my daughter’s best friend got a job offer, starting in January. Now normally this was not a big deal, but this kid followed my daughter to UK and did a gap year, she quit her well paying job and took it as an adventure.

The job market has been tough so I wasn’t sure she would get a job or not.

I felt slightly guilty for suggesting to her, with her UCLA degree, UK would give her 2 year visa or whatever they call it. Well she went, spent a gap year, and had a great time. In fact, she loves UK even though her parents never been anywhere but Los Angeles.
