The view from my window

Hawaii 001.JPG

This will be our view, shortly, from the living room of the condo that we rent in Honolulu.

I woke this morning, early, and there was a light mist of rain falling, which here in Hawaii is considered a blessing.
I stepped out on to the lanai of the apartment to say ALOHA KAKAHIAKA, GOOD MORNING to the Mountains, Ocean and the wild chickens crowing ... and saw this
breath taking.jpg

My heart was full and tears welled up

This was yesterday.... we had 75mm of rain and the view at the back of the house is where there is a creek marked on the maps, but usually it is dry. Yesterday it wasn't.

When we get standing water like this, it's flooding the garage and the fields at the back. It's flooding underneath the house and it's washing away the gravel road we live in.

Luckily we didn't get the landslides that the route to the coast had which has dropped the road to a single lane on a public holiday weekend.

If we pretend for a moment, that my eyeglasses are my windows (does it count), then On my way back from the salon, I took a brief moment to appreciate the modern catholic Church nearby.

Some years ago, when my daughter trained volleyball at a school adjacent to this blue building, I thought it to be an office...

It was locked, I might want to get in for Mass or Prayer/Adoration sometime this summer...curious to perceive the interior.

from my window 1.jpg

the view from our rentals front door looking up forwards St Louis Heights Oahu Hawaii with just a hint of a rainbow.
When you looked forwards the mountains here in Hawaii, 8 out of 10 times, you'll see a mist and rainbow.
