Weekly Menu (2025)

This is a recipe I’m making, just marinated the pork butt and put in the fridge. I used even less salt than state here but i added black pepper because love black pepper. My daughter said the jar of kim chi I bought looks very good, a word of encouragement, I hope to find out tomorrow :D

And quick pickle with vinegar and sugar for sweetness, like a dish Chicken Mu for Korean. I paid 55c for a small daikon.

Now resting waiting to do a ginger, scallion sauce, good thing I did buy some organic ginger.
 
Finished the ginger sauce. I took out my pork butt, one side is very soft, so I put it back for another hour.
This it it, waiting for the pork butt to cook, I just need to blast it with sugar for 10 minutes then we eat.
 
I took out the pork butt and I applied brown sugar, knowing my oven is very slow to get to 500 F, I just set it for 450F, when it gets to that temperature all the sugar will be melted, this is an Asian version of City Ham by Alton Brown, except I have to cure the ham myself overnight.
