What’s going on in your garden (2025)?

Finally I rooted all of my cuttings in sand, I hope they will sprout. This is my 4th year of rooting, I enjoy the process.
Today I also did some more trimming of my climbing roses, it’s nice to finally see my wall.
One thing I noticed is that some of my blueberry bushes are setting flowers and fruit. I really can’t wait for Jan/Feb time frame. Last year I ate a lot fresh and I finally got bored, I started cooking with some of them. This is what happens when I have 36 bushes, I know, I know, I have problem controlling myself when it comes to plants.

The birds get all of our blueberries.

I've just liberated 300ml of raspberries from the garden.

They never look as much tipped out on the breadboard but that's my get rid of insects approach. It's a big chopping board.

I never get raspberries looking that good. Maybe next year.
I have 2 variants growing. This is actually the smaller of the 2 which I can't remember the name of. The other version is tulameen, which has an amazing taste and are huge. We'll get ½-1kg every 3 days now until it gets too hot for them. Then they'll flower and fruit a second time in the autumn. We have a very strange micro-climate but it does mean i get 2 full crops of raspberries a year instead of the normal 1 crop. I'm not complaining, raspberries are my all time favourite food.

Mine are all in pots, I’m too nervous to plant them in the ground, maybe that’s the reason why.

It doesn't help them. We just have a rule that works something along the lines of, if they're growing in the lawn my husband takes the mower over them. If they surface in an area of the veg plot they're not wanted, I usually pull them up, or dig them out depending on if i need more to fill a hole or if someone wants some. They can be grown in pots but they'll need to be plenty of space and soil and lots of water aka BIG pots. I have 2 olive trees growing in BIG pots too big to pick up and move and they're perfectly happy but my love of raspberries out does any need to take them. Even my landlady wants cuttings of my raspberries! Lol
