So the SVB's, squash vine borers, have already nailed my single plant and it's only been in the ground 5 weeks. So 4 days ago I started 2 more seeds so I can succession plant and keep harvesting. It's working!

Put new top soil in the pots and hopegully soon I'll have some cashews, mahogany and NZ spinach

Mahogany spinach or wood? I can't find a spinach variety called mahogany.

Mahogany is a tree.
Not sure if I got the Natal mahogany or Pod Mahogany
The spinach is New Zealand spinach which is actually not related to spinach. It's one that keeps growing and you harvest the leaves. Except that it doesn't like our summer
In your climate, it could become a pest

Enough plant pests already! Some things here can grow 5 cm/day.

I got some more buckets freeing up, so I may try fenugreek (as per suggestion of karadekoolaid a while back) and whatever else I can find

Powdery mildew
Trying bicarb of soda. If it doesn't work, it has to go, as it shares a half drum with bell peppers and (hopefully) madam jeanette chili's

About 2-3 weeks and you can harvest the leaves. Or, you can leave it for longer and the little pods will be full of fenugreek seeds.

I'm going to use quite old fenugreek seeds, so was thinking of soaking them overnight

I've tried growing it from shop bought fenugreek seeds sold as a spice without success. I had great results with seed from a garden supplier. It grew like wildfire. Soaking may help. Good luck!

I've heard adding a few drops of peroxide helps. Read that on a gardening forum but can't remember why.
