Yep, I boil in a kettle first as well, more efficient.



A piece of thin no ink no glue cardboard from a food packaging container. Being paper it will swell when wet. Micrometer says it's 200/1000 of an inch thick.

Edit: Wrote that wrong, 0.02" thick.

I now have the permenant filter to make coffee on the side where the caraf is. No more looking for paper filters or running out of them!!!!!!!

Hold times and temperatures.

I just figured yesterday it'll probably work well for kimchi too! Now I can make it in the winter time, I think. No idea where our cabbage comes from but in the winter it just doesn't have the lactobacillus to get started and I've a way to harvest that from my fermented pickles I made this past summer.

I read the manuel for the coffee maker first. *I wanted to make sure that I had everything right before I used it for the first time. Don't want any screw-ups.
