What are you baking today (2025)?

The lemon mousse I made for afternoon tea would work with lime just as well, I think, and it was simple…it’d take maybe 3-4 limes. Let me know if you want that and I’ll post it up.

Next time I make it, I’m going for orange!

I’ll get it posted tomorrow. It’s a Pepin recipe, takes all of 15 minutes to throw together, and it’s maybe four ingredients…and it’s delicious!

I haven't messed much with baking bread since leaving Las Vegas in '21. My house here is much less heat tolerant to the oven being on but I finally reached the "screw it" point. I'm retired and I'm going to cook what I want irregardless the power bill, at least until I get it. 😆

JAS_OH1 Here's an attempt at a baguette that I've not made in four years. Most residential electric ovens have a vent since they're designed to cook dry. My GE has one like this:

To keep the steam in the first twenty minutes I did this:

I ended up with a consistent crumb, good flavor, good mouth chew but not enough oven spring. Next time.
