What did you cook or eat today: August 2025?

Shopping at M&S Food this morning, I bought this “Everything tomato, garlic and herb paste” just out of curiosity…
OMG what a delight!
I started with a simple cucumber and feta salad, then tried in pasta with tuna chunks… a new addiction for my addictions list!

Have done some bits n bobs.
Mixed up some brine for some chicken legs that are now in the fridge submerged 👍

Put together a pot of ingredients for an overnight slow cook of what will be little pots of chicken rillette tomorrow.

Removed the skins from the thighs (two trays worth) and have salted them ready for making chicken crackling later. Did one rosemary salt and one of the new lemon and thyme salt.

Made some pizza dough, maybe pizza or maybe calzone later

Discovered my bread roll wasn’t happy as the butter was still a bit hard but have no fear, the new grater to the rescue 😂

Sliced up some Sea bass Beetroot gravlax I made. I didn’t get a great yield and it didn’t slice easily because a family emergency meant it had an extra 24 hours in the fridge. Still taste good though 😊

Went to The Cheesecake Factory last night. Craig had an order of Tex-Mex eggrolls. I had 1/2 of 1, there were quite a few. I ate most of the warm bread and butter they brought. A couple of glasses of pinot grigio. Chicken enchiladas with green sauce plus black beans and rice. Craig had rigatoni alla vodka. Godiva cheesecake for me and very cherry Ghirardelli fudge cheesecake for Craig to take home.

I'm in agreement there. I love a ¼ pounder with cheese. Yes, I could probably eat one every day. I love to buy them with my son and his wife, because they don't like the pickles - so I get them.
Yes - it's mass-produced, it's probably/possibly crappy food, but I love it. No regrets.
For me, it's the Wendy's triple. 🤤 🤤 🤤 🤤 The way all those condiments come together with the crisp produce and the melty, cheesy, beefy goodness. Omg, it's so 🤬 good. 🤤

A list of salad items no matter how nice is never going to entice me, but seeing your salad I want to eat it.
I think what I’m saying is you’ll need to fly to Blighty and make it 😂

Supper was a small salad with Italian dressing (and some of my home-pickled banana peppers) along with a frozen pizza from Aldi - hadn’t had one of theirs before. It was middle-of-the-pack.
