What did you cook or eat today (June 2025)?

It will be in mine in the near future...
Salt, chili, lime, I'm sure I can make that :)
It was one of those purchases where I get reimbursed for $35 in groceries and have to visit various departments, one of which was shelf stable items on that visit, and there just happened to be a grocery associate in the next aisle to the spices/seasonings for me to ask, "Do you carry Tajin seasoning?" and see if he offered to walk me to the item or tell me where it's located (or if he doesn't know what it is to try to help me find it). But I like it quite well and had it in mind before I went into the store.

Chios today as too many people were talking about it
And tomato-onion-egg plant concoction

In food heaven right now.
I’ve not had sesame prawn toasts since I became a coeliac decades ago and every time I see them on the menu I get a little pang!

I’ve found some GF bread that has a light texture which I thought if I let it go stale would give me a nice tasting base. Which it did, it fried beautifully, even, golden, crunchy and not at all greasy. So happy!

Yes I had started eating one before I took the pic, truth be told I started eating before they made it onto the plate 😂

Yeah, it's a 40 minute drive. I just sucked it up and put it on my Walmart order (over $5 for the 1.2 oz McCormick). but I would have spent a few bucks on gas and my time driving out to Meijer, so it's fine.

Edited to add 40 minute round trip.
And of course they gave me the wrong thing: I received ground coriander leaf, which I already have in my cabinet, and not ground coriander seeds. Looks like I will have to order them, which is fine, other than I wanted to make my sausage Wednesday (that's when my Mexican oregano arrives) and I have no idea how long it will take for the coriander seeds to arrive. Getting ready to find out.

In the process of making a sourdough pumpernickel bread (it's rising right now). I am making an herb-forward cold spinach vegetable dip, which I could have entered into the challenge if it weren't for the fact that the packet of Knorr vegetable soup mix isn't available in a lot of countries and it's an important ingredient. It goes great with the pumpernickel bread.
