What did you cook or eat today (May 2025)?

Nice. Handy to have such a supply of free would too.
I bet Pippi’s having the time of her life!
Yeah, the wood is a plus on this many acres. A tree falls down and we can pay the help with the wood they can haul off. Have to be *very* snake aware. I usually get to the tree and drive the gator, or the mower, around a bit to drive anything off.

Pippi remembered the bbq thing. She sat right there and perked up every time there was a pop or fizzle. When I said let's go it's done she blasted into the kitchen like she had JATO!

Jet assisted take off?

When I BBQ seafood one of mine (Dipsydoodle) is so desperate for a prawn or the like she laser beams me the entire time, direct unbroken eye contact and will periodically tap my foot with her paw
“Hey, hey, I said HEY! I’m still here and I see you have prawns, you haven’t forgotten I also like prawns?”
She’s patient but if it’s seafood and it’s taking too long she tap, tap, taptaptap and then starts crying!

Fake wasabi is probably mixed with cornflour, or rice powder, to dumb it down, which is why it's sort of weak.
When I was in London last year, I bought some of this: S & B Wasabi in a tube - best I've ever tried.
It should taste good with all of those ingredients in it, artificial flavours, blue food dye and not a dot of wasabi 😂

The first home Craig and I shared had a pass through from the back of the kitchen sink to the dining room. It had a shelf big enough to sit serving dishes on, which also was a nice place for a kitty to use. My kitty was Misty at the time. She learned that we washed/peeled shrimp in the sink, as well as Craig cleaned our diving catch of lobster and fish. She wasn't patient like Dipsydoodle. When she deemed that she had waited long enough with nothing forthcoming, she'd reach out and swipe, with claws out to make sure she snagged whatever it was. Craig ended up with lots of red streaks on his hands before he learned to bribe the monster.

Lost in translation. Wasabi is horseradish in Japanese (according to my trusty giggle translator ) and I suppose, since it comes first on the list, it's possibly the main ingredient. Wasabi was probably an afterthought:hyper:. Hot, though; really hot in a good way.
Ingredients:
Horseradish, Sorbitol, Food starch modified, Rice bran oil, Sugar, Salt, Water, Wasabi, Artificial flavor, Citric acid, Turmeric, Xanthan gum, Artificial color (FD&C Blue#1).
Hmmm. Blue and yellow (from the turmeric) = green, so that solves that one. Oil to make it more malleable, citric acid as a preservative, Xanthan gum as a thickener - that just leaves 6 ingredients to wonder about.:hyper::laugh:

Afraid not. Wasabi isn’t quite the same thing.
Wasabi is naturally green. It’s a different plant.
Smack that google on the nose!

Steak over hot coals and a roll.
I shared with BB and Sherlock

Made yeasted waffle batter and let it rise once yesterday for waffles this morning. Took the bowl out at seven this morning and then got carried away with the bbq endeavor. Ended up giving the bowl a swirl when I walked by. Nine hours later I've made the waffles and they're really light. I tore a piece of the first one and look at the crumb! It's almost hollow!
