Linner (late lunch/early dinner) for DH & I yesterday

Steak Frittes with grilled fresh Asparagus tossed in Olive Oil, Garlic, Parmesan and S&P
AH YUM!!!

Tonight is our last supper cooked here in Cowboyville Arizona for a bit ...
and we shared with my Mom - a bento box for her of the same that we had

Grilled Chicken Teriyaki, that ever present steamed White Rice and my Quick Cucumber Kim Chee (or kimchi, whatever)... which was a bit spicy - my mouth is still on FIRE!!!
Kitchen's closed - it'll be take-outs for a while

Didn't cook long enough, so was tough. Oddly sweetish, not sure how that happened. And, the air turned blue while he was hands on cooking. Steak was edible. Mashies were good.

Did NOT want to cook today, so drove over to the Dragon King and treated myself to a rather odd sweet & sour prawn dish and a whole bucket load of vegetable fried rice.
I won't have to cook tomorrow, either, and perhaps not even on Saturday

I usually stay in a mix of different accommodation types.
Yesterday was a cheap motel with the garage attached to the room and fabulous chicken wings.
Todays is a 4 star golf hotel and tomorrow a three bed house.

So I was surprised that at a four star hotel that this is their steak and chips plate.

Some veg or a sauce or something would have been nice but this is common in Spain, a paper thin steak and just chips.

Fortunately I carry a bit of english mustard and it tasted great, the chips were super crunchy and the steak well seasoned. Still I was hankering after a bit of asparagus or the like to go with.

Mega bonus they have gluten free beer!

It's always surprised me.
In a lot of countries, you order steak and they ask "would you like chips or salad"?
But I want both!

I don't eat steak, but any dish with just plain chips and a piece of protein, I'd be thinking "hey, the chef has lost the plot".

It was a disappointing sight for sure.
But then visually it underpromised and over delivered so that's something

I've been watching a program that follows people with tourette's. My wife laugh when I copy them. The aird blue around here a bit.

Wife had some mixed salads but I persevered and made a salad with kumara chips and fresh ham I bought yesterday. It was really good.

That meal was tea tonight. Brekky my wife had bacon and scrambled eggs and a cuppa.
Me a cuppa and toast with marmalade. My wife made it. I looked outside, the sky hadn't fallen in !!
