What did you cook or eat today (May 2025)?

YEP! I mystery shop them once every few months or so. I do like their chicken but I don't love their sauces and I never eat coleslaw unless I make it myself. It's a requirement to order the fries, though, so I do that. I don't have to eat them all, just a couple so I can gauge the flavor and temperature.

I like bone-in chicken, so Church's had it's merits. RC doesn't offer bone-in chicken, only chicken fingers (at least in OH).
The mystery shop that I belong to pays minimally - not worth my time and gas money

Never heard of Huey McGoo.
We have one about 20 miles up the road in Centerville. I first noticed it a couple of weeks ago and thought, “Geez…another chicken finger place.”

The joke used to be Subway’s on every corner…then Starbuck’s…then nail salons - I guess for the latest generation, it’s chicken fingers. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I cooked samosas, vadas (think falafel with Indian spices) , spicy shortbread with spicy tomato chutney topping, basmati, chicken in coconut sauce, veggie curry, and gulab jamun for dessert.
Only two people in the group had ever eaten Indian food before. Everyone loved it; they devoured (almost) all of it.
It was a pretty intense couple of days, with loads of unexpected obstacles in the way, but it worked out just fine; I even had 3 lovely ladies who insisted on plating the dessert.
This time, I took a packet of aluminium containers (think Chinese takeaway) with me, because I was definitely not taking any leftovers home.
Happy, happy, happy!

Wasn't sure cos over here old crow is something you'd call a woman not a man
Nah, that’d be a crone here.

Seriously, “tough old crow” where I’m from is a compliment.

plus crows don't symbolise anything good.
We love crows around here, lots of myth and mystery.

And Attenborough is good so I thought for some reason you must not like him.
I love him - he’s the Jacques Pepin of broadcast naturalists!

Sounds delicious. I have made crawfish bread a couple of times. Creole / Cajun is my favorite food group

Never heard of that but just looked it up and it can't help but be good! I'll have to make it sometime. Thank you for the mention!
It does sound good. I found a John Folse recipe and one from Explore Louisiana that really look good. I guess you could use chopped up shrimp cooked like crawfish out of season.

If you want to go Italian, try prosciutto bread. I prefer it with pesto, Craig prefers marinara.

If someone called me that I'd be ticked off. Crone or crow.

Crows and starlings are two of my least favorite birds. Partial to cardinals, though, I think they are kinda sweet and I have a mating pair in my backyard that beg for sunflower seed blend when the feeder gets low.

Absolutely wonderful!
