What did you cook or eat today? (October 2025)

Is that the Rosa Marie sauce er whatever that stuff is Brits like? I've never had it but I think I remember some English folks posting about it. Yes I know you're not British but you've got that Cornwall connection...
New Zealander, they’re more British than the British in some ways 😂

Lol.. you arebkind of right. My great grand parents were English through and through
(Mums side) morning and afternoon tea with bone china etc.
We dont do that here but mum used to. My dad's side (he walked out when I was 4) was always a rugged side. I remember him and his father very well. My das was a tough man.. bushman aka logger aka axeman .
Im a bit of both.

I forget now, but someone was talking about McDonald's Steak Bagel?
We do not patronize this fast food joint but rarely, and had never heard of this...
Steak, Egg & Cheese Bagel Breakfast Sandwich | McDonald's
That's a hard pass for me!
"... a juicy steak patty ..." What the hell is that?

I looked up what a steak patty is:

McDonald's steak for breakfast is a pre-made patty made from sirloin beef, according to a former corporate chef. The patty is produced by the food service brand Steak-EZE, which is lightly marinated and seasoned, then compressed to break apart when cooked.

  • Type of meat:
The steak is made from sirloin beef that is processed into a patty.

  • Supplier:
McDonald's sources this "Break Away Sirloin Beef Steak" from a food service brand called Steak-EZE.

  • Preparation:
The patties are pre-marinated and seasoned with ingredients like Montreal steak seasoning before being sent to the restaurants.
    • Form:
The steak is compressed into a patty shape that breaks apart when cooked on a flat-top grill.

Steak sandwiches made from preformed steak patties are a SW Ohio specialty!

They come two ways, usually - with a mushroom gravy or with pizza sauce, onions, and peppers and served hot on a pillow-soft hoagie roll.

They’re best purchased out of a pass-through window in the back of a dive Mom-and-Pop carry-out convenience store in some podunk town where they’ll have a little griddle set up on one table and a little card table with the fixings on another table, and you’ll get it hot and wrapped up tight in some tinfoil.
