What did you cook or eat today? (October 2025)

Dinner last night, shop bought Yorkshire puds, parmentiere potatoes, mini homemade meatballs and onion gravy.

After seeing TastyReuben 's yummy bowl of Chilli the other day I decided it had been a long time since I'd made one, so ready steady go.
I didn't have any green peppers ( I like a mixture of red and green) but that didn't matter too much. Pasilla chiles from Mexico added a nice touch, and I had to add another 4 fresh chile peppers because they weren't very potent.

There's nothing very cute about him. He's just an overweight eating machine with a tail that can reduce furniture to sawdust. He's also thick as 10 teak lavatory seats. I've tried to train him to sit, lie down, atc. all to no avail. The only command he responds to is "OUT!" - at which stage, he lies down.
We love him to bits! :laugh:
 
Dh rewarded me with linner (late lunch/early dinner) out for "being so brave, I'm very proud of you" that went through with my medical procedure without any complaints.

One of the best pours in the area (about a 45 minute drive away) went up $1 🤷‍♀️ still worth it!

We shared and still have enough for another meal for us two!!!
 
Improvising on vacation. At home I have different types of sesame seeds, wasabi, soy sauce, sriracha, nori, sushi rice, rice wine vinegar, and more. I got a beautiful large fresh tuna steak from the market and I do have everything bagel seasoning and black ground pepper so that's what I used to coat it for searing. I bought wasabi and soy and some ready made sticky rice, so that's how were doing it. I can't wrap my head around buying everything I'd need to do from scratch and throwing it out at the end of the vacation.

The knives here are not great. Tuna was excellent.
