Here the BK is still using that flame grilled thing so the smoke taste is real smoke! There's enough coming out of that exhaust vent to cause an uproar in Nevada...

Same here.
I think they needed more heavily seasoned. Or seared on both sides. Plus they certainly didn't need 4-1/4 hours of braising. Although the carrots were perfect.
Just not beefy enough tasting.
But definitely doable if you have some to use up.
