Great meal, except for the lima beans.I made chicken fried steak last night with mashed potatoes, white pepper gravy (not with white pepper, LOL), and lima beans. It was soooo good. My DH doesn't love it as much as I do, so tonight I am going to fry up the last patty (we split the one from last night) and have it myself with mashed potatoes and gravy and more lima beans. DH can eat the leftover chicken bacon mac and cheese and he will be happy with that.
Usually frozen, and simmered quite a while in weak chicken broth, some onion, garlic, butter or bacon grease, and whatever ham/bacon I have on hand.How do you do limas? Do you cook dry, frozen, or...?
I love them more than peas or green beans.Great meal, except for the lima beans.
To borrow from a popular ad campaign from a few years back…we “put that sh*t on everything!”TastyReuben I never thought about using bacon grease with Lima Beans, AH YUM!
That was 3x as in x= another number.... 30-39...I made butter chicken at least 8 times to get it pretty dam close to restaurants.
It's worth the time to get it right️

Growing up, one of the best ways to serve them if you love cheddar cheese is to grate it over then liberally and melt it under the grill (UK). When is starting to brown on the top, it's ready to serve. The cheese will be just at the right point lower down, melted and gooey, goes wonderfully with sprouts.I can eat a bowl of buttered Brussels sprouts alone and be happy.
