What did you cook or eat today (September 2025)?

Chicken in oyster sauce in a pitta, served with salad.

Two empanadas; the first with ground beef, the second with "cazón" which translates as baby shark. I think it's called dogfish in the UK .
Dogfish
It's delicious, very popular in Venezuela and the Caribbean, and is usually shredded and mixed with a slightly sweet mixture of onions, garlic and sweet chiles.

I remember way back when you could get shark steaks $5/lb. 👋

I made chicken fried steak last night with mashed potatoes, white pepper gravy (not with white pepper, LOL), and lima beans. It was soooo good. My DH doesn't love it as much as I do, so tonight I am going to fry up the last patty (we split the one from last night) and have it myself with mashed potatoes and gravy and more lima beans. DH can eat the leftover chicken bacon mac and cheese and he will be happy with that.
That sounds great.

I had 3 bites of omelet for breakfast, then some leftover homemade creamed corn (not the sweet kind), and now I am finishing off a few scoops of leftover tuna casserole. Not sure what I want to make for dinner just yet. I probably will make some smoked chicken salad from the smoked chicken thighs we had last night. I will give DH the option of having a burger instead if he wants.
