What did you cook or eat today (September 2025)?

I just took a look at the recipe. First of all, I'd never use leek or celery in a curry. Just not right. That's like making tacos using Wonderloaf.
2 onions for that, and I don't understand why there's no ginger in there. Rhubarb & ginger go so well together. Chile peppers seriously lacking. I'd double the amount of spices, and add a tsp of garam masala near the end.
Totally agree. Rhubarb is good with lentils as it is a souring agent with the earthy taste of lentils. Its a bit like using tamarind. Puy lentils aren't used in India (obviously) and don't lend themselves easily to daal in my opinion.

Today I cooked a sample Aloo Ghobi ( potatoes with cauliflower, a Punjabi classic) for the photo shoot, and then did 4 kilos of green mango chutney. All done for today.
Sous chef said I looked hungry so he ordered me a mortadella & provolone sandwich.
SANDWICH??? It was a huge, made-in-house brioche bun stuffed with lightly fried mortadella, fresh tomatoes, a bit of onion, bacon bits and provolone cheese. Unbelievably good, but I never got to finish it.

Out of town babysitting a grandson Neil my daughter gets home. Picked him up after school. So only a couple of hours. Got an hour drive home. I’m hitting Culver’s for a butter burger.

Salad with homemade (American) French dressing.

Chili is already made for tomorrow and MrsT requested rice with it, so that’s done as well. Tomorrow will be a simple heat-and-eat matter.

Pot roast with vegetables of carrots, parsnips, mushrooms, onions, potatoes.

Ginger, chillies, more than double/triple on the spices and garam masala all went in, trust me.
I did also have 2 onions...

The celery wasn't a problem and added crunch which was actually quite nice.

We can't get puy lentils here either, so subbed for an Australian blue lentil.
