What produce/ingredients did you buy or obtain today (2025)?

I've tried those (both flavours). Of course they're awful, but if you go in with low expectations and close your eyes and pretend that they are not what they are trying to be, then they're some passable 'stodge' if you're desperate for something quick and only have time to boil a kettle of water.

If I'm going for a quick cup noodle, I prefer Pot Noodle.

Low expectations, pretend that they are not what they are trying to be, just let my childish curiosity takes advantage and go!

Some Kewpie (this is the European version so gluten free and I think less sugary), I’m excited to try that.
A large gluten free Hoisin Sauce which I mostly cautiously like it’s a nicely flavoured sugar so that should do me for quite a while.

And turmeric n beetroot coloured rice papers for a version of Crystal dumplings as the restaurant at the Oriental Supermarket has me constantly hankering after their Prawn dim sum so I’m really looking forward to trying to finding a fast easy GF version to hit try that spot.

I liked the look of these and I’ve made dumplings for soup with rice papers before which I really enjoyed so fingers crossed 🤞

Now to master the prawn filling that the restaurant does. I’m suspecting a dash of MSG might be needed to get it where it needs to be!
 
Aldi would've probably been a cheaper route but I needed potatoes and all they ever seem to have are bags of those huge baking potatoes. I just don't need potatoes that large especially now that my fitness app says I'm overweight...
