I bought some Castilla squash and now I’m wondering what dish to make. I also bought lamb shoulder for a roast tomorrow.
My googling yield some kind squash au gratin. But I also have some leftover croutons from Thanksgiving.

As some of you know I do deals with food etc.

My recent trades are my home made goods. Tomato sauce pickled gerkins , onions hot chilly sauce my mint sauce and tomato relish. I gave a guy i know some samples and he loves them
He swapped 10 crayfish and some paua.
My freezers are full.
We will be eating well over xmas.
Pics later.

Now that I have a bit of time, I can list what I bought today.
3 Eggplants for 39c a pound, for moussaka dish.
5 brown onions for 25c a pound.
2 red onions for 39c a pound
Chicken legs for 69c a pound, for balsamic chicken dish
1 bag of walnuts for $2.99 a pound, the baking season is coming up, I need to eat more walnuts, best for brain food.
1 bag of pistachios for $4.99 a pound
Fuji apples for 39c a pound
Gala apples for 39c a pound
Bananas for 39c a pound
A quarter of Castilla pumpkin squash for 69c a pound, maybe to bake with honey miso glaze
1 head of cauliflower for 69c a pound
Persian cucumbers for 39c a pound
A shoulder lamb ( I believe it’s from Australia) for $4.99 a pound
One head of green cabbage for 69c a pound
Some Shiitake mushrooms.

I forgot to add one pound of ground beef for sauce for moussaka
and some Arabic bread for $1.39, this bread is for dipping the lamb sauce.

Overall I’m very pleased with my shopping today. Not only that I received 4 free bags from the store clerk, I didn’t ask for them, he just gave them to me free. Probably because I was much friendlier than the customer before me, lol.
